{"id":11692,"date":"2022-11-25T12:03:01","date_gmt":"2022-11-25T11:03:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fossr.eu\/?post_type=evento&#038;p=11692"},"modified":"2025-11-03T17:10:14","modified_gmt":"2025-11-03T16:10:14","slug":"fossr-kick-off-meeting-fostering-open-science-in-social-science-research","status":"publish","type":"evento","link":"https:\/\/www.fossr.eu\/en\/eventi\/fossr-kick-off-meeting-fostering-open-science-in-social-science-research\/","title":{"rendered":"FOSSR Kick-off Meeting \u2013 Fostering Open Science in Social Science Research"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Friday, 25 November, 9:30 a.m. \u2013 Via dei Taurini 19, Ground Floor Hall<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The kick-off meeting of <strong>FOSSR \u2013 Fostering Open Science in Social Science Research<\/strong> will take place on Friday, 25 November, at 9:30 a.m. at Via dei Taurini 19, Ground Floor Hall.<br \/>\nThe project, funded by the <strong>European Union \u2013 NextGenerationEU<\/strong> with more than <strong>32 million euros<\/strong>, aims to create an <strong>Italian Open Science Cloud for the Social Sciences<\/strong>, modeled on the <strong>European Open Science Cloud (EOSC)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>European Infrastructures<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Three social science research infrastructures coordinated by the CNR are involved in the project: <strong>CESSDA, SHARE, and RISIS<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThe goal is to build an <strong>integrated platform of tools and services<\/strong> with a single, smart, and user-friendly access point available to the social science research community to conduct analyses and studies on the social and economic transformations of contemporary societies.<br \/>\nThanks to its open data access, <strong>FOSSR<\/strong> will enable exploration in many research fields: wealth distribution, education, migration, social behaviors, economic models, public policies, and more.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Partners<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>National Research Council (CNR)<\/strong> participates in FOSSR through several institutes of excellence \u2014 <strong>CNR-Icar, CNR-Ircres, CNR-Irpps, CNR-Ismed, CNR-Istc, CNR-Isti, CNR-Irsa, CNR-Istp<\/strong> \u2014 and its departments, including <strong>DSU (Department of Humanities and Social Sciences)<\/strong>, the <strong>Interdepartmental Centre for Ethics and Integrity in Research<\/strong>, and the <strong>Research Valorization Unit<\/strong>.<br \/>\nMany universities are also involved, including <strong>University of Milano-Bicocca<\/strong>, <strong>Politecnico di Milano<\/strong>, and <strong>University of Padua<\/strong>. <strong>ISTAT<\/strong> also participates through a specific agreement.<\/p>\n<p>By facilitating easier and simplified access to data, <strong>FOSSR<\/strong> aims to promote data literacy and methodological awareness, fostering further development of the social science research sector in Italy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Organizing contact:<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Alessia Fava<\/em><br \/>\nCNR \u2013 Institute for Sustainable Economic Growth (CNR-Ircres)<br \/>\nVia dei Taurini 19<br \/>\n\ud83d\udce7 alessia.fava@ircres.cnr.it<br \/>\n<strong>Admission:<\/strong> free<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":9289,"template":"","event_type":[150],"class_list":["post-11692","evento","type-evento","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","event_type-conference-en"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.fossr.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/evento\/11692","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.fossr.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/evento"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.fossr.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/evento"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.fossr.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/9289"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.fossr.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=11692"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"event_type","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.fossr.eu\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/event_type?post=11692"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
