How can research remain open and reusable while ensuring responsibility towards participants and society? This is one of the key questions that will guide the upcoming <strong>F<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fossr.eu\/en\/eventi\/ethical-issues-in-ris\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">OSSR webinar on Ethical Issues in Research Infrastructures for the Social Sciences<\/a><\/strong>, taking place on <strong>10 April 2026, from 10:00 to 12:00<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The webinar is organised within Task 2.5 \u201cFOSSR Ethical Issues\u201d, <strong>led by CID Ethics &#8211; CNR<\/strong>, and aims to examine how ethical principles can be integrated into research processes from the earliest stages of project development. Rather than being considered only as a final, additional procedural requirement, ethics here emerges as a core element of research quality, methodological robustness and responsibility towards society.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A particular focus will be dedicated to the ethics by design approach<\/strong>, which encourages assessment of the social implications of research and the anticipation and mitigation of risks already during the planning phase of research activities.<\/p>\n<p>The online seminar will address several key issues relevant to social science research infrastructures, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ethical challenges in social science research<\/li>\n<li>responsible data sharing<\/li>\n<li>protection of participants\u2019 dignity, autonomy, safety and wellbeing<\/li>\n<li>ethical clearance procedures<\/li>\n<li>balancing data openness and protection of research participants in open social science<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The webinar will be held <strong>in Italian<\/strong>, with presentation slides available <strong>in English<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>All the information, the complete agenda and the registration link are available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fossr.eu\/en\/eventi\/ethical-issues-in-ris\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">page devoted to the event.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ethics plays an increasingly central role in social science research, especially in contexts where openness, data sharing and reusability are essential components of scientific work.
