Giovanni Cerulli (CNR-IRCrES) has recently published a tutorial on Optimal Policy Learning (OPL) using Stata, available on Zenodo.
This publication is an integral part of the Policy Learning Platform currently being developed within FOSSR and was also the subject of the first FOSSR Policy Brief dedicated to this theme.
The document introduces the Stata OPL package, focusing on policy learning through machine learning.
The OPL framework offers three policy-learning algorithms and provides hands-on demonstrations with real-world data, allowing users to implement practical solutions directly in Stata.
The tutorial also presents a menu-based strategy for scenario planning in policymaking, bridging the gap between theory and practice in ex-ante policy evaluation.
The publication of this tutorial on Zenodo reflects FOSSR’s commitment to open access and to providing high-quality resources in the fields of policy learning and data science, contributing to the broad dissemination of knowledge.
