The WP6 of the FOSSR project aims at designing and developing a national distributed cloud computing platform, enabling the realisation of a research infrastructure capable of providing data and services in the social sciences capable of integrating national nodes of other existing European research infrastructures such as CESSDA, RISIS and SHARE. The cloud computing platform, leveraging the data centre network built in WP7, will enhance the national research infrastructures, creating a superstructure on top of them that will integrate and provide, through a single point of access, new services for storing, analysing, semantic expression querying, retrieving and sharing large collections of anonymised social science data for research purposes. The platform will be able to generate detailed statistics for users on usage and energy consumption with respect to their workloads, respecting DNSH principles. This will promote responsible use of the infrastructure, distributing costs fairly among the organisations involved in the project. The data resources managed by the cloud computing platform will respect the FAIR principles. WP6 also aims to develop a marketplace and a web portal, which will allow interested users to consult the data and services offered by the overall infrastructure. Finally, a virtual environment will be offered to foster cooperation between researchers through social functions.
