The FOSSR project in the framework of CNR major infrastructure projects
The recording of the online seminar conducted on February 19th, 2025 by CNR-IRPPS on the FOSSR Policy Learning Platform (PLP) is now available here. The PLP tool is developed by FOSSR for data-driven optimal policy learning. The session presented implementations in Stata, R and Python, of PLP, the optimal policy learning platform developed by FOOSR, with insights from leading researchers in the field. Emanuela Reale, CNR-IRCrES, FOSSR Advisor, chiarisce il senso dell'infrastruttura FOSSR per le scienze sociali. Ragionando sul fatto che le scienze sociali hanno una struttura cognitiva e organizzativa estremamente diversa da quelle che noi chiamiamo "scienze sperimentali", che lavorano per gruppi epistemici differenti, e che, rispetto a queste, usano framework di riferimento teorici e operativi differenti, la dott.ssa Reale offre una riflessione sui cambiamenti in atto nell'ambito delle discipline interessate dal progetto, soprattutto riguardo le necessità emergenti con l'Open Science e con il nuovo paradigma della coproduzione di conoscenze scientifiche.

The demonstration event "The FOSSR Virtual Research Environment (FOSSR-VRE)" introduced the FOSSR Virtual Research Environment through a guided hands-on session, showing participants how to use the VRE for research.

The 2024 FOSSR General Conference will be held on October 10th 2024. The Conference aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the latest advancements within the FOSSR project. Second part agenda: The second part in the afternoon begins with Demonstrations of various FOSSR services, showcasing innovative tools that support research in the social sciences. Andrea Giovanni Nuzzolese and Rocco Paolillo present the Knowledge Graph, illustrating how it organizes and visualizes complex data relationships. Giovanni Cerulli introduces the Policy Learning Platform, highlighting its role in facilitating informed decision-making through shared knowledge and best practices. Giulia Andrighetto and Eva Vriens then present the PoolPo platform, designed to enhance collaboration and data sharing among researchers. Marco Sprocati moderates this segment, ensuring a cohesive flow and engaging presentation style. Following the demos, a question-and-answer session provides an opportunity for FOSSR beneficiaries to interact with the Scientific Coordinator, Advisor, Infrastructure Manager, and Work Package leaders. The event concludes with farewell remarks from Giovanni Cerulli, Emanuela Reale, and Marco Sprocati.
