An exclusive interview with Emanuela Reale has been published online in GARR NEWS, the newsletter produced by Rete GARR, Italy’s national ultra-broadband network dedicated to the education, research, and cultural communities.
In the interview, Emanuela Reale, Director of CNR-IRCrES and FOSSR Scientific Coordinator, highlighted the importance of creating an Italian Open Science Cloud for the Social Sciences.
Reale stated that this initiative will help foster the development of the social sciences in a fair, transparent, and accessible way.
The main goal is to integrate innovative services for data collection, management, and analysis.
The FOSSR project, as explained by Reale, aims to create an integrated platform for knowledge sharing, providing social science scholars with innovative tools and services for analysis and research, while promoting collaboration and easy access to scientific resources.
FOSSR’s impact goes beyond academia. Reale highlighted that the project also seeks to influence public policy, equipping stakeholders with the necessary tools to interpret and use data effectively. This will support both ex-ante evaluations of policy options and ex-post assessments of policies and their societal impact.
