Extraordinary participation – over 57% – in the first phase of the FOSSR-ORP “CIVES Observatory” survey

province ORPThe first phase of the Observatory on Civicness and the Evolution of Society” (CIVES Observatory), the main survey of the FOSSR-ORP panel, launched on 22 October, ended with an extraordinary result: over 57% of the 10000 panellists completed the questionnaire, dedicated to exploring civic values and practices in contemporary society.

Responses came from all over Italy, offering a comprehensive representation of the territory. Many panellists also left spontaneous comments at the end of the survey, expressing their appreciation for the topics covered and the structure of the questionnaire. In several cases, participation stimulated reflection and discussion within their social networks.

A significant figure concerns solidarity: thanks to the choice of numerous panellists, through the technical partner involved in the survey, €3090 will be donated to Médecins Sans Frontières and €522 to the CESVI Foundation.

The first round of the CIVES Observatory will conclude in December 2025, with a second part dedicated to exploring the opinions of adults residing in Italy on highly topical issues, such as the use of artificial intelligence, the relationship between citizens and science, and urban security.

The survey, promoted by CNR-IRCrES in collaboration with the Carlo Cattaneo Research Foundation, is being conducted as part of the Online Research Panel (ORP) of the FOSSR project. The aim is to gather the opinions of the adult population on issues central to collective life: social and political participation, trust in institutions, the climate crisis and new technologies.
