On the 11th of October, the last day of the FOSSR Days, an online Demonstration Event entitled “The FOSSR Virtual Research Environment (FOSSR-VRE)” will take place from 11.30 to 13.00 am.
The Demonstration Event aims to showcase and engage participants with practical tools designed for working with FOSSR and related services.
Emphasizing hands-on experience, the event will feature guided activities that allow attendees how to practice these tools in a collaborative environment, enhancing skills and understanding of the FOSSR services.
The session will include a presentation of the FOSSR Virtual Research Environment and a guided practical session where participants can learn how to use the environment for research and policy-related activities.
The Demo Event will cover the following areas:
- Introduction to the FOSSR VRE
Gain an understanding of the FOSSR VRE’s architecture and features, based on the D4Science, and discover how it enables Open Science by providing a collaborative digital workspace for research activities.
- Methods/Algorithms Importer Tool and Lifecycle Tracking
We will showcase how the VRE’s Method Importer Tool simplifies the integration of new methods. Participants will also learn how the VRE tracks a method’s entire lifecycle, from creation to execution, sharing, updating, and archiving, ensuring transparency and reproducibility in research workflows.
- Method/Algorithm Executions Monitor
Discover the Method Executions Monitor, which tracks the execution of methods in real-time, offering live streams of outputs and error logs. We will also highlight advanced features such as archiving, restoring, and resubmitting executions, along with automatic code generation (Python, R, Julia) for easy programmatic resubmission of tasks.
